Here’s what my Indian brain tells my American Brain

With almost a year in this country of capitalism and independent living, I often find myself questioning my inner demons – which country has a better sense of living? India or United States. Having left my family at the age of 27, I left my home country with myriad dream as everyone in my MBA batch did. And when you leave a place, you often leave a sense of thinking behind as well; you get accustomed to various changes NOT immediately BUT gradually. So, has been my brain, maintaining ties back in India or building new relationships in United States, I have often wandered between these two phase of self-development process. India’s are generally shy , humble and conservative unlike American’s who are flamboyant and carefree. I realized this during my team presentations and meetings, when most Indians are running after driving the true sense of company’s valuation. Americans are busy marketing the company’s mission and its identity. I have started to realize why both minds are needed to deliver projects at the corporate level. This sense of realization and the moment of achievement when you feel proud of your own self – makes you push yourself for another milestone in your life.
